Main Goal
Distributing high-quality, eco-friendly sanitary pads to those in need
Peniel’s Girls Charity is an initiative of AKINLUYI, Oluwakemi Racheal who recognized the challenges faced by menstruating girls in public secondary schools.
The idea was born out of a stark reality: many girls in our community were missing school during their periods due to lack of access to affordable sanitary pads. This absence led to poor academic performance, low self-esteem, and limited opportunities.
She drew inspiration from her personal experiences and the stories of girls in her community. She began distributing sanitary pads to local schools, mobilizing resources and support from friends, family, and like-minded individuals. Over time, she joined efforts with like-minded individuals to expand in order to reach out to more girls. As an NGO we’ve established partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and governments to amplify our impact.
Today, Peniel’s Girls Charity Organization is a registered non-profit organization dedicated to:
Our journey is a testament to the power of collective action and the potential for positive change. We remain committed to creating a future where no girl misses school because of her period.”
